According to Attunity, Continuous CDC enables extract, transform and load (ETL) tools or programs to use standard SQL to query and continuously feed only changed data records for processing.

The new version caters to business intelligence dashboards and the composite workplace applications market with its continuous data streaming.

The company said that this is an alternative approach to traditional extract feeds for ETL tools, which poll for changes on a periodic basis, resulting in delay between each cycle and the overhead of initiating new processes. The company added that the new capability also benefits end users by controlling and managing the change stream such as the ability to stop it on-demand, in a scheduled manner or to pause and then resume the process.

The previous version of the Integration Suite was launched by the company in October 2006. The version 5 included enhanced service oriented architecture capabilities, integrated functionality for SQL server and SSIS and management facilities for large-scale deployments.

In February 2007, Attunity’s competitor DataMirror launched the DataMirror Transformation Server 6.0, a log-based SQL server CDC.
