Atlassian releases marketplace for easy downloading of third party apps

Atlassian Marketplace establishes minimal end user license agreement terms for third-party add-ons sold through the Marketplace

By CBR Staff Writer

Collaboration software provider Atlassian has released its Marketplace, a one-stop shop where its customers can download and buy 1,000 free and paid add-ons for the company’s apps.

The free or paid add-ons will complement and extend the functionality of Atlassian’s suite of software products, including JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo and Stash.

Atlassian Marketplace offers a simple way to discover, purchase and manage for-purchase add-ons directly within the Atlassian Marketplace or within an Atlassian product.

It also offers an enhanced experience for ordering, shopping and license management while the social features offers users to rate, review and learn more about add-ons through other users.

Third-party partners who build businesses on top of the Altassian platform can now offer and market their software solutions directly to 45,000 of the development teams who are using Atlassian’s products to streamline product development.

Atlassian Marketplace establishes minimal end user license agreement (EULA) terms for third-party add-ons sold through the Marketplace, simplifying the procurement process for vendors and customers.

It also manages credit card processing, customer invoicing and collections.

The company said it includes renewal teams that help coordinate customer renewals and customers can synchronise renewal dates of product and for-purchase add-on licenses.

Commenting on the new release Atlassian co-founder and co-CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes said now anyone can try and buy a new business software application in minutes without leaving its products or its web store.

"Whether you’re looking for testing apps, CRM integrations, diagramming add-ons or a host of other solutions, Atlassian Marketplace offers the best of the web for software teams," said Brookes.
