Artificial Technology has introduced EKI One 2.0, a new version of its modular middleware. The new version extends the functionality of the modular software technology to online game design.

Like its predecessor EKI One 1.0, the new version consists of three components: EKI One Engine, the core element and base technology; EKI One Configurator as the graphical user interface; and EKI One Support, which provides customer services.

The company claimed that apart from the reworked layout and design, the advancement of this version of the software is its expanded and diversified applicability.

According to the company, online game design studios will benefit from EKI One 2.0 which is expected to reduce development cycles and costs.

Serein Pfeiffer, technical director and co-founder of Artificial Technology, said: “The team at Artificial is particularly proud of having released a version that allows online game designers to access the world of artificial and emotional intelligence.

“The optimised server-client architecture lets developers populate MMO worlds with thousands of computer-controlled characters without having to concern themselves with technical details such as distributing the system load for behaviour simulation.”
