Workforce management software firm ARRIS’ WorkAssure Workforce Management application now includes support for handheld devices and tablets using the Android OS platform.
The new release will provide cable broadband operators with the full application portfolio required and technicians in the field with tools to make their jobs efficient.
WorkAssure also will enable operators to streamline operations through workflow improvements that increase productivity, reduce errors and improve reliability and quality.
The new release also said to improve customer service and event resolution with real-time interconnection of field service, despatching, inventory and support staff.
ARRIS Assurance Solutions Product Line Management senior director Gary Cunha said operators are beginning to phase out existing handheld devices and purchasing new Android devices because of the user-friendly features.
"We want to do everything we can to make technicians in the field as productive as possible, so to that end, WorkAssure’s comprehensive mobile support can now be extended to a variety of handheld devices and tablets that use the Android OS platform," said Cunha.
