Ariba, a provider of collaborative business commerce offerings, has launched the Commerce Cloud, a web-based platform that enables companies to buy, sell and manage cash.

The Commerce Cloud, delivered as an integrated service, helps companies manage collaborative inter-enterprise commerce. It includes applications for spend management, collaborative finance management, and sales generation management; the Ariba Network, a web-based trading community; Ariba Exchange, a customer community where companies can network, share best practices, and collaborate with partners and peers.

In addition, the service also includes market, category, technical, strategic and other expert capabilities that can be accessed on-site or remotely via the web.

The new offering helps companies save money on direct and indirect spend and accelerates new sales opportunitiesm while extending and improving collaborative trading relationships regardless of architecture or delivery model decisions, Ariba claims.

In addition, customers using on premise or third-party applications benefit from trading partner enablement and collaboration around procurement and financial processes.

Bob Calderoni, chairman and CEO of Ariba, said: “The next wave of productivity will come from more efficient and effective collaboration between companies. The Ariba Commerce Cloud provides the technology, community, and capabilities required for better collaborative buying, selling, and financial management.”
