Ariba has launched a new set of products designed to help companies identify and minimise risk across their global supply chains. With Ariba Supplier Management, companies can reportedly develop an idea of supply risk, and diagnose and mitigate these issues before they impact their organisation.
Sundar Kamakshisundaram, senior solutions marketing manager for Ariba, said: “Having information on supplier financial viability and operational performance is critical to assessing exposure to risk, but it doesn’t provide a full picture and isn’t enough to help companies mitigate potentially negative effects on their business. What’s needed is a 360° view of a supplier’s health, details on underlying supply market risks and an efficient process for acting upon this intelligence on an ongoing basis.”
The company has launched Supplier Risk Assessment software to provide risk management assistance, including analysing the financial health and stability of suppliers using financial information and third-party risk profiles as well as examining commodity and underlying supply market trends to discern the impact of supply constraints and price fluctuations across top and sub-tier supply chains.
In addition, its new Supplier Information Management software reportedly helps companies reduce the cost and time involved in supplier discovery and assessment as well as on-boarding and management, so that if suppliers fail, new ones can be identified.
The company said that its Supplier Performance Management offering can help organisations avoid supply problems through collaboration with and measurement of key suppliers. It is also expected to help manage suppliers using automated processes and coring/analysis tools.
