Arcot Systems, a provider of authentication and digital signing services, and Adobe Systems are collaborating on a new system for secure correspondence management.
By extending Adobe LiveCycle ES and the correspondence management system accelerator with Arcot’s new secure electronic notification delivery (SEND) service, financial institutions can provide additional security for customer e-mail, said Adobe.
According to Adobe, the Arcot SEND service provides a security and delivery clearinghouse for documents sent to a recipient’s e-mail. With Arcot’s patented cryptographic camouflage technology built into the Adobe Acrobat family and Adobe Reader, the SEND service protects confidential and personally identifiable information by encrypting PDF files. The recipient only needs an Adobe Reader, his password and an ArcotID credential to decrypt the document and view it.
In this system, the Arcot SEND service extends existing document control, digital signatures, and document certification technology within LiveCycle ES and the correspondence management system accelerator, said Adobe.
John Knightly, vice president of enterprise marketing at Adobe Systems, said: For financial services institutions, correspondence is an important channel for maintaining regular communications with customers. Whether it’s a welcome kit to a new customer, a bill for an insurance premium, an account statement, or a promotional offer for a new service, augmenting paper-based mailings with proactive e-delivery offers institutions an opportunity to improve customer engagement while reducing costs. The Arcot SEND service gives institutions additional flexibility for securing high impact e-mail correspondence.
