iPhone owners can swap their old models for cash towards buying a new model at UK Apple stores.

The tech firm has launched a trade-in programme at its British outlets, where iPhone users can exchange their older models for up to £175 credit towards the iPhone 5S or 5C.

According to Apple, the trade-in programme credit is valid only for new iPhone purchases activated in store with the network of users’ choice.

Apple launched the trade-in scheme in the US last month, allowing iPhone ownersto exchange non-water damaged devices in good working order, earning between $120 and $250.

The iPhone maker also operates a recycling scheme via mail, which covers a wide range of products.
