A security glitch in Apple’s new iOS6.x operating system would allow hackers to unlock iPhones and access, export the address book, send emails as well as make phone calls.
iPhones running on iOS6.x including iOS 6.02 but not iOS 6.1 can be hacked by a dozen simple steps as discovered by Jailbreak Nation.
The process can be activated by ending an emergency call and then executing some button presses to trick the device into keeping the iPhone unlocked.
Upon hacking, the Contacts app would allow messaging contacts by SMS or email as well as to even share them, which can be added to an outgoing email as a .VCF file.
Apple told CNET that the company takes user security very seriously.
"We are aware of this issue, and will deliver a fix in a future software update," Apple added.
Earlier, Apple faced similar glitches of being immune to security problems that infected PCs.
