Apple has released iOS 6.1.1 for the iPhone 4S after telephone operators warned thier customers not to upgrade to iOS 6.1 claiming that it could lead to connectivity problem.

Vodafone warned all UK iPhone 4S users not to update their devices to iOS 6.1, until Apple fixed the problem.

Three’s network in Austria also sent out a similar warning to its customers that updating to iOS 6.1 on the iPhone 4S can cause connectivity problems.

"This update fixes an issue that could impact cellular performance and reliability for iPhone 4S, the company said."

Last month, Apple released iOS 6.1, the revamped version of its operating system since it launched in September 2012.

The company has added 4G LTE support for 36 additional iPhone carriers and 23 iPad carriers across the globe.

The revamped operating system (OS) allows users to browse, stream and download content at faster speeds, on the iPhone 5, iPad mini and iPad with Retina display.
