Apple has acquired UK based AI startup VocalIQ to improve its virtual voice assistant Siri.

VocalIQ claims that its software helps computers speak more humanly through deep learning, where it learns and improves from each human interaction it processes.

The software not only helps computers better understand human commands, but it also understands the context in which the command was given.

Its speech processing and machine learning technology can be used in wearables and the connected home.

The acquisition is expected to help Siri better understand human language which at times the virtual assistant struggles to understand.

The Cambridge based AI firm previously raised £750,000 in seed funding last year, which was led by venture capital firm Amadeus Capital Partners.

As per reports, the company might use VocalIQ’s technology for the development of its own car.
