Apple is reportedly planning launch its next generation of the OS X operating system, OS X 10.9 at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that will be held during 10-14 June 2013 in San Francisco, US.

The company is developing the new OS under the codename ‘Cabernet’, the OS X 10.9 which will include improvements in features and visual enhancements for power-user devices incorporating features from iOS.

The new operating system could include improvements in the Finder application like tags and tabbed browsing modes, along with a new Safari web browser with a redesigned backend for improved page loading, speed, and efficiency, according to the 9to5Mac.

Features of the new OS will include the ability to keep a different ‘Space’ or full-screen app open in multiple monitor setups under the power-user feature.

The smartphone maker is also said to be testing a new multi-tasking system for OS X, which is similar to the quick-app-switcher function on iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches, will be functional for applications in the background.

In addition, the OS X is expected to have app-pausing technology from iOS to pause background application processes.
