Andrews International has entered into an agreement to acquire A&S Security (A&S), a California-based full service security company, to strengthen its position as a service provider of security and risk mitigation services.
In addition, Andrews said that the acquisition brings resources in open-air strip centre guarding operations, enabling it to offer services in the US Western Region. The acquisition closed on January 25, 2010, with support from Audax Group, and brings an additional office in Covena, California.
Under the agreement, Andrews will acquire all of A&S’ security assets, guarding operations, a fleet of patrol vehicles, while retaining its current owners and personnel to manage and service clients. In addition, it will also be merging new technology with A&S resources and operations.
Tom Andrews, founder of A&S, said: Strip centres in particular don’t have the financial resources of larger properties and many uniformed security providers aren’t positioned to deliver a level of service that includes constant contact with property managers, precise planning, responsiveness and ‘feet on the ground’ lead by experienced field supervisors. This has always been our approach, one that is shared by Andrews, and we look forward to making further inroads into this market together.
In November 2009, Andrews International has acquired Verasys, a Miami based consulting firm focused on global risk mitigation, investigations, with a security services division. The agreement brought Andrews International additional offices in Miami, Tampa, Dallas, Atlanta and Bogota, Colombia. In June 2010, it has acquired the US and Mexico guarding operations of Garda World Security.
