Two firms have joined forces as they attempt to strengthen endpoint security.
American company Webroot, a cloud-based security solutions provider, has agreed a strategic partnership with German network security specialist Gateprotect.
The enterprises hope to use Gateprotect’s Next Generation Firewall appliances with Webroot’s endpoint protection technology to better secure endpoints to any network boundaries while simplifying management.
They hope to fill a gap in the market where businesses want a holistic approach to security and management, with products that maintain IT protection while a company’s network perimeter expands.
Gateprotect CEO Peter Smeets said: "The partnership with Webroot is a significant milestone. We view the cooperation as a long-term strategic enrichment and as a basis for the envisioned implementation of the joint product initiatives."
