Amazon has launched a Prime Pantry service which will deliver customers 45lbs of selected items at your doorstep for $5.99.

The service will allow Prime customers to order canned foods, cereal, snacks, beverages, groceries, and household items which you usually buy from grocery stores that can fit inside a four cubic feet box.

In order to opt for the service, customers have to add a Prime Pantry item to their Cart that shows how much space is left in the virtual cardboard box.

Amazon said on its website: "As you shop, you see that each Pantry item tells you what percentage of a Pantry box it fills based on its size and weight.

"As you check items off your list, we continuously track and show you how full your box is."

Items customers can buy include popular brand soft drinks and bottled water, breakfast cereal, potato chips, personal care products, paper and laundry products.
