Allscripts, a provider of healthcare technology, has unveiled Allscripts Prenatal, a stand-alone and EHR-integrated software-as-a-service system to address the workflow and cross-provider information sharing needs of prenatal care.
According to the company, Allscripts Prenatal: offers an interoperable system that is simple to implement and use, and yet is interoperable with Allscripts and other electronic health record (EHR) systems; enables multiple providers to communicate through a single place, making information available real-time, all the time; reduces clinical and administrative costs by eliminating the expensive and unproductive process of maintaining, faxing and filing paper records in the office and hospital; increases patient safety by enabling a comprehensive and reliable maternity care record.
Glen Tullman, CEO of Allscripts, said: When it comes to healthcare, information makes all the difference, and there’s no place where it’s needed more than in maternity care.
We recognized that many EHRs are not designed with the needs of maternity care providers in mind, and Allscripts Prenatal is the result – yet another innovation from Allscripts that makes it easier for physicians to do what they most want to do – practice the safest, most effective medicine possible.
