Alibris, an online store that sells books, music items and movies, has replaced an outdated website with one that uses Oracle WebLogic Portal, a component of Oracle WebCenter Suite, which includes Enterprise 2.0 services, to help grow and diversify its lines of business.
The implementation has helped Alibris open a new line of business hosting marketplace sites for retail partners, said Oracle.
In addition, by automating previous manual processes, Alibris was also able to redeploy editorial resources to alternate activities, increasing marketing campaign capacity and enabling more than 60% growth in sales from retention channels such as e-mail marketing, added Oracle.
Liz Derr, COO of Alibris, said: Oracle WebLogic Portal has delivered a significant return on investment in a very short timeframe. We’ve seen revenue increases across the board since the deployment, and the platform’s flexibility allows us to continue to roll out new sites, sections and features quickly and easily.
One of the greatest advantages of using Oracle WebLogic Portal is that it was easy to integrate with our existing IT infrastructure. As a result, we didn’t have to change our business processes or back-end technology to see value from the implementation.
