Internap Network Services Corporation, a provider of hosting services, and Aerospike, provider of a flash-optimised, in-memory NoSQL database, have announced an integrated solution that creates the industry’s first ‘fast Big Data‘ platform by offering Aerospike’s NoSQL database on Internap’s AgileSERVER bare-metal cloud.
The combined solution aims to enable developers to quickly deploy applications that demand predictable, high performance in a cost-effective hosted environment. This allows customers in a variety of industries to make better, faster decisions by storing and analysing terabytes of data from billions of transactions.
The data solution combines Internap’s high performance bare-metal cloud with a pre-configured installation of Aerospike’s flash-optimised, in-memory NoSQL database. The scalable, turnkey solution processes and delivers massive amounts of data within milliseconds. For use cases requiring high-bandwidth network connectivity among clustered servers, 10 Gigabit Ethernet to the server is available as an optional add-on.
Implemented in some of the industry’s most data-intensive environments, the Aerospike database is used by customers to personalise consumer interactions across multiple channels, including the web, mobile, search, video, social, gaming and online retail. These revenue-generating, big data-driven applications rely on Aerospike to rapidly read and write user context in order to deliver the most relevant response.
Srini V. Srinivasan, founder and VP of engineering and operations at Aerospike, said: "The Aerospike database is designed to meet the needs of a new class of Internet-scale applications that must personalise consumer interactions based on what customers are doing with their devices right now. Our integrated solution with Internap’s bare-metal cloud will ease time to market for our customers and allow them to operate at speed and scale twice as cost effectively as they could with virtualised public cloud offerings."
