Adobe shuts down Connectusers.com website following data breach

Revealing 644 records from the site, the hacker said that the release was towards indicating the firm was slow in fixing security errors

Adobe Systems has closed its Connectusers.com website that allows users to share information regarding the use of its Connect online conferencing service following data breach.

The firm has now begun investigation into the data breach following a self-proclaimed Egyptian hacker’s posting of stealing log-in credentials, including names, email addresses and encrypted passwords, of about 150,000 customers and partners from its servers.

Adobe said that it would reset passwords of the about 150,000 members of Connectusers.com website, while reported that its Connect web conferencing service and other sites were not violated.

Releasing 644 records from the site, including emails, the hacker said that the release was towards indicating the firm was slow in fixing security errors.

Adobe said in a statement that the firm sincerely apologises for the inconvenience this may cause to its forum members.

"Your security is of critical importance to us, and we appreciate your patience as we work towards restoring Connectusers.com forum services," the firm said.

Adobe firm also confirmed that it will reset the passwords of impacted Connectusers.com forum members, while has also advised its members to use different login credentials across different websites and services.
