Enables organisations to streamline the management of smart cards, USB tokens and associated certificates

By CBR Staff Writer

ActivIdentity, has unveiled several enhancements to its credential management system, ActivID Card Management System. The system now supports public key cryptography standards (PKCS) #11-compliant middleware and also features automatic certificate renewal and smart card update capabilities.

According to the company these new enhancements enable organisations to further streamline the management of smart cards, USB tokens and associated certificates, resulting in reduced costs of deployment and increased end user productivity.

In conjunction with ActivClient security software and PKCS #11-compliant middleware, ActivID Card Management System issues and manages smart cards and smart USB tokens that are being used for a variety of desktop, network security, and productivity applications.

The company said that the ActivID Card Management System is currently being deployed by security-minded, large-scale organisations such as Nissan and Repsol and has also been used for the issuance and management of Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards in the US Federal government.
