Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) has announced that will continue to provide WellPoint with voice communication services, extending its 20-year relationship with the company. WellPoint is an Indianapolis-based health benefits company. ACS expects that the partnership would enable it to create an additional service offering available to any healthcare payer or insurance organisation.
Under the new contract with WellPoint, ACS is expected to provide healthcare communication services which include printing, mailroom, member fulfillment services and outbound communications with members and providers of WellPoint’s affiliated health plans.
ACS said that it would deploy new technology and operating model to consolidate multiple communications or payments into one mailing. It plans to consolidate printing, processing and fulfillment for explanation of benefits, provider payments and other outbound correspondence, allowing its members and providers to receive the communications or payments.
David Finkel, senior vice president of service operations at WellPoint, said: ACS is providing WellPoint with an innovative business solution that allows predictable costs, guaranteed and accelerated savings as well as improved communication with members and providers.
ACS has informed that it has also partnered with RedCard Systems to create operational efficiencies for WellPoint and other healthcare payers.
