Absolute Software, a provider of firmware-based, data protection and secure computer lifecycle management offerings, has launched its Manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) for iOS 4 devices, such as the iPhone and iPad.
The new offering available with Absolute Manage enables IT departments to manage and secure iOS 4 devices alongside their PC and Mac computers from their platform of choice, Mac or Windows.
Absolute Manage enables IT administrators to remotely manage, wipe and lock Apple iOS 4 devices from either a PC or Mac computer without the need for extra hardware or software infrastructure.
With the addition of MDM, Absolute Manage users can manage PCs, Mac computers and now iOS 4 devices from a single, comprehensive user interface in a PC or Mac infrastructure.
Absolute Manage MDM features include asset inventory, data & device security, remote provisioning, absolute apps, and end user messaging.
The new Absolute Manage MDM features for PC and Mac computers include application and license management; security, change and configuration management; automated patch management; computer imaging; power management; and asset inventory.
Absolute Software vice president of lifecycle management Peter Frankl said, with the launch of Absolute Manage MDM for iOS 4, users can have control and security they need for the enterprise while increasing productivity.
