5 innovative exhibitors at Apps World 2015

List: Swytch and Droiders are just two of the innovative exhibitors at Apps World 2015.

By Alexander Sword

1. Swytch

The Swytch app allows users to make and receive calls and texts through multiple UK mobile numbers.

Available for Android and iOS devices, users can set up a new number in less than a minute, which can help them in a range of use-cases such as separating business and personal communications or temporary purposes.

When making a call the user can decide which number to make the call from. As long as a data or Wi-Fi connection is available calls and texts to any country are charged at local rates.

2. Droiders

Apps are not just about smartphones; somebody has to design the apps for new and emerging platforms such as wearables and AR technologies such as Google Glass. Droiders specialises in streaming apps for wearables.

In addition, as a Google Glass Pioneer team, Droiders developed the Streye suit to allow team collaboration and remote expertise through smart glasses.

They have also found a patient clinical usage for Oculus Rift, Android Wear real-time football in-game updates and mobile VR apps for Manchester City.

3. ebankIT

ebankIT aims to develop rapidly deployable applications for the finance industry to help banks in delivering core banking to customers, allowing them to boost customer interaction while reducing costs.

The user experience-focused innovation includes applications across wearables as well as voice and mobile banking.

The company is involved with a FinTech Accelerator in London.

4. Mango Adv

This "next-gen" advertising platform works to connect international publishers and top advertisers to boost reach for adverts.

It provides a suite of ad formats available for several major device platforms, including PC, smartphone or tablet.

These provide the users with refined audience segments according to demographic, behavioural, content, device and geo-targeting features.

5. bandseekr

bandseekr uses machine learning to help the user discover new bands and artists suited to their tastes by monitoring them then feeding this information back into its search process.

It is built by D.A.M. Good Media, a company which specialises in Big Data for the live entertainment industry, to show the power of their platform.

A public beta is being launched throughout November.
