A total of 41% of organisations are planning to increase their IT security budget by 16% in 2014, a new security report claimed.
According to the Tech Pro Research survey, 11% of those surveyed revealed plans to cut down their security budget in the New Year.
About two-thirds of respondents were concerned about security, in the wake of reports of breaches and disclosures, the research found.
And it was only large organisations with more than 1,000 workers which said they plan to boost IT security controls.
The trend of BYOD is expected to dominate security concerns for businesses next year, after a lack of employee knowledge about social engineering attacks topped the list this year.
The report also added that the most popular security project for 2014 is the development of better risk management processes, which also topped the list for 2013.
