London-based Softsel Computer Products Ltd is offering a range of add-in memory products from Micron Technology Inc, Boise, Idaho, comprising an IBM personal computer and compatible memory board series, Apple Computer Inc Macintosh Plus/SE and Mac II memory expansion kits with a Mac II video expansion facility, and the MegaOne and MegaFour memory modules developed for Compaq Computer Corp’s Deskpro 386 series personal computers. For Intel Corp iAPX-86 family personal computers under MS-DOS, OS/2, Unix and Xenix – but MS-DOS only on XT-alikes and the PS/2 Models 30 and 25, the 2/4Mb EMS board and the 2/4Mb extended memory dual in line package boards have 2Mb mother and daughtercards which fit into a single slot; the extended memory board has 4Mb of RAM components and the 6/16Mb extended memory board has a 6Mb mothercard and 2Mb, 6Mb, and 10Mb daughtercard in a single slot; the 10MHz board offers up to 6MHz or 10MHz with a one-wait state and the 12MHz board runs at up to 8MHz or 12MHz with one-wait state; the 2/4Mb EMS, the 2/4Mb board and the extended memory board run at 8MHz or 12MHz with one-wait state and the XT or PS/2 Model 25 and 30 boards run at 4.77MHz to 8MHz with zero-wait states and an extra four boards can provide 8Mb of expanded memory. For Macintosh users, the Mac Plus/SE expansion kit offers 2Mb or 4Mb and the Mac II offers 1Mb, 4Mb, or 8Mb and also increases Mac II display from 16 to 256 levels of colour – both kits are compatible with all Macintosh software. As for the Compaq memory modules, they are for use in the Deskpro 386/20, 386/25 and the 386/20e and have a 32-bit path. The 2/4Mb EMS board and the XT or PS/2 model 25/30 boards cost UKP900, the 2/4Mb dip board is UKP850, the zip board costs UKP1,600 and the price of the 6/16 dip board will be revealed on application; the Mac Plus/SE expansion kit costs between UKP600 and UKP1,200 and the Mac II expansion kit starts at UKP500 for 1Mb; the Compaq modules start at UKP500 and go up to UKP1,700.
