Softmart teams up with Microsoft to increase sales

Softmart, a supplier of software and hardware solutions, said it would sell Surface Pro and RT devices to its clients as part of Microsoft's Microsoft Devices Program.

By Amy-Jo Crowley

The Microsoft Devices Program, a two-tier distribution model with authorised partners, will allow Softmart to resell its devices to businesses, schools, healthcare and universities.

Roe Miller, VP of national sales at Softmart, said: "We’re very excited to participate in the Microsoft Devices Program because it demonstrates our commitment to finding the perfect solution for our corporate clients who rely on Microsoft devices and services."

Other companies joining the programme include En Pointe Technologies, CompuCom Systems, Insight Enterprises, Softchoice, SHI and PC Connection.

Jenni Flinders, VP of US partner group at Microsoft Corp, said: "Bringing Surface Pro and Surface RT to the US commercial channel greatly extends the reach of our devices-and-services strategy, delivering our family of devices enabled by cloud services to more organisations than ever before."
