The initiative is the latest step in the bank’s program to assist the differently-abled which has been in place for several years.

After implementing new standards for the installation of ATMs to ensure accessibility for those with reduced mobility, Societe Generale fitted all new cash machines with raised keypad characters to facilitate access for the visually impaired as well as providing headphones and an audio system to provide high quality voice support.

The first of its voice-assisted cash machines has recently been installed in the Tour Montparnasse branch, Paris, and the bank plans eventually to roll out vocal technology to its network of 4,000 cash machines across France.
