Socialtext has unveiled an upgrade to SocialPoint, its connector that enables customers to integrate its enterprise social software platform with Microsoft SharePoint.

The company said that the new release of SocialPoint helps customers take advantage of the real-time messaging and people profiles of Socialtext when they are working in SharePoint.

According to Socialtext, the SocialPoint upgrade, which will work in both SharePoint 2010 and 2007, includes, Enterprise microblogging in SharePoint that allows users to can post and view Socialtext Signals from right inside SharePoint. The new application also allows to users to search the people directory from within SharePoint.
