SMT International Ltd of Richmond, Surrey has become the first of the portable manufacturers to use the NEC V20 processor; the 8088-alike chip has replaced the 80C88 in the Goupil Club leading, says SMT, to a 30 to 70% increase in performance; the 14 lb Club with LCD Supertwist screen, 768Kb RAM and two 720Kb 3.5 floppies sells for UKP1,895.
