Once registered, China Unicom customers will be able to use the Unicom Mobile Wallet services, including mobile top-up, bill payments, and the purchasing of lottery tickets, among other things. The service provides a more convenient alternative to the traditional credit card, with accessibility anywhere at anytime.

As part of the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations, Guangdong Unicom’s Mobile Wallet project will be promoting mobile lottery ticketing. Its customers can complete the purchase of lottery tickets via SMS, and inquire about prizes and other up-to-date information.

The service will also be utilized to expand the network of SmartPay agents in Guangdong Province. It is already a leading electronic payment services provider in China, with an extensive network of banks for mobile, telephone and internet-based payments, including eight headquarters and more than 35 branches of China’s key banks.

Mobile payment in China redefines traditional payment solutions, commented Greg Shen Guowei, CEO of SmartPay.
