SMARTCARD INTERNATIONAL WINS AGREEMENT FROM ROBERT MORRIS COLLEGE

If the thing is so damn smart, why isn’t it going to college? It is – SmartCard International Inc, New York has won an agreement from Robert Morris College in Chicago to develop the first US smart card system for student and faculty applications, including campus purchases, curriculum information and course registration: it will be tested using SmartCard’s 64Kb UltiCard pocket computer system, which contains applications developed by the company and the college; the project starts late this year at the Chicago and Carthage campuses of the college, with the Springfield campus to follow in 1988.
