Solid-state drive (SSD) technology firm SMART Storage Systems has launched a new XceedIOPS2 serial-ATA (SATA) 6Gbps SSD, which leverages 24nm enterprise multi-level cell (eMLC) NAND Flash.

The 24nm process node within XceedIOPS2 provides enterprise organisations with enhanced performance and the reliability, the company said.

XceedIOPS2 delivers up to 520 MB/s of sequential read/write speed and up to 60,000/40,000 random read/write IOPS.

SMART Storage’s new SSD is available in both 1.8" and 2.5" form factors and ranging from 50 to 400GB in capacity.

The new drive includes an error-correction and detection engine, multi-level data-path and code protection, data fail recovery, advanced thermal management features and high reliability back-up power circuitry.

XceedIOPS2 employs a flash-management algorithm that includes bad-block management, wear leveling and minimal write amplification.
