France’s second largest software and systems integration house, Sligos SA has won a contract of undisclosed value from the French subsidiary of German carmaker, Bayerische MotorenWerke AG, to assist its IBM Corp System/36 users in 135 sites throughout France: the deal will last several years and consists of two elements – the corrective and evolutionary maintenance of applications, and user assistance; Sligos must set up and manage a telephone support centre, deal with on-site visits, new installations and the training of new users; in a separate contract, BMW France has also engaged Sligos to manage the migration of its management applications over to Unix systems.
