Intel Corp accompanied official announcement of the 50MHz 80486 – at $655 with volume deliveries in 90 days – with price cuts on many other microprocessors and maths co-processors, and Cyrix Corp of Richardson, Texas cut prices on its FasMath line to maintain its differentials. From July 1, Intel is cutting the 33MHz 80486 33.3% to $445, the 80386 4% to $161. On the 80487SX, the price falls 25% to $600; the 33MHz 80387 is off 70% at $300 and the company is charging the same $300 price for all speeds the reduction on the 16MHz version is 47%. The 80387SX is $170 at 20MHz, $150 at 16MHz, both cut 69%. The 80287XL is slashed 70% to $100. Cyrix now charges $300 for the 40MHz 83D87, $280 for the 25MHz, 20MHz and 16MHz versions; $170, $160 and $150 for 25MHz, 20MHz and 16MHz 83S87; $90 for the 82S87.
