Fiberlink plans to bundle Skype’s VoIP with its Extend360 security mobile access software and offer it as a value-added service to its more than 800,000 enterprise customers.

Skype cofounder and chief executive Niklas Zennstrom said more customers are using its service for business, and expects Skype will make additional patnership deals with other companies to target enterprise users.

IT professionals and others in the industry are concerned about the security implications of using applications like IM and Skype, said William Wagner, Fiberlink chief marketing officer, in a statement. Extend360 reduces those concerns and puts control back in the hands of IT.

Terms of the deal between Blue Bell, Pennsylvania-based Fiberlink and Luxembourg-based Skype were not disclosed.
