Logicalis has furthered its investment in Wales with the opening of its UK Managed Services Centre in Nantgarw.
The Centre, formerly offshored in Malaysia, creates over 20 highly skilled ICT jobs and a new apprentice scheme. It will provide 24/7 technical services to hundreds of blue-chip UK businesses.
Since first opening its Nantgarw office in 2007, international solutions and managed services provider, Logicalis, has grown its regional workforce from under 10 to 80 today.
Edwina Hart, Minister for Economy, Science and Transport, who officially opened the Managed Services Centre on August 1 in Nantgarw, said: "Bringing a technology services operation from Malaysia to Wales is a great testament to the opportunity and skill-sets Wales can offer global enterprises today and sends out a strong message to the industry.
"It is also a reflection of the success of their Welsh operation and the high calibre of staff they have been able to recruit locally," she added.
Hart was joined by Logicalis UK managing director, Mark Starkey at the launch of the Centre. According to Starkey, Nantgarw was the perfect location for the UK service centre.
"It was an obvious choice," he said. "Wales offers the depth of skills, professionalism and enthusiasm for innovation that we need to design and deliver high quality IT services to our customers right across the UK.
"We look forward to further developing this through the apprentice scheme; playing our part in building a thriving and competitive digital economy in Wales," he added.
