Sitka Corp, based in Alameda, California has announced MacTOPS 3.1: the new System 7.0-compatible version of the file sharing and printer sharing system is said to widen the spectrum of Macintosh, personal computer, Unix and pen-based environments that Sitka customers can integrate into a single network; MacTOPS 3.1 enables any computer on the network to directly access any other computer, and view or copy its files; other enhancements include access to data on who is accessing the Macintosh, the ability to re-size the MacTOPS window, Finder functionality when the MacTOPS window is open and an enhanced user interface; MacTOPS 3.1 is to ship in August and a 3.1 upgrade will be given free to users who purchase 3.0 between May 1 and ship date.
