The SITA Group, provider of global telecommunications and information processing offerings to airlines and travel-related organisations, has launched its Global Voice Service. The service has been designed to offer corporate OnNet to OnNet calling, OffNet delivery of calls and the ability to connect international Call Centres. Based on Northern Telecom Ltd’s DMS100 Central Office system, the service supports speech, Group III facsimile and modem data transport to speeds of 28.8Kbps. SITA said it will provide direct access via dedicated leased lines and is compatible with the majority of PABXs worldwide. One of the benefits of the service, according to the group, is its single contract service, with a single bill and management information breakdown for the entire network. The service will be available from October; there are no pricing details yet.
