SingTel believes that customers will not be interested in 3G at the moment, because although the technology may be state of the art, there have not been enough 3G services developed to attract them. At present there are very few 3G handsets available. For these reasons (and others), there has been limited interest in the technology.
The company expects to have the network rolled out by 2003, when it will be offered to users exclusively. In 2004, it will open up for general customers to comply with the state deadline.
