The new software, a part of Cisco’s Clinical Connection Suite, comprises complementary components that are designed to help direct, locate, and prioritize information for mobile clinicians. Alexandra Hospital has already adopted its first component of the system, a just-in-time approach to bed management that reduces waiting times for beds.
Cisco says the project will span LAN and wireless LAN infrastructures, integrating Internet Protocol telephony and healthcare applications. Fujitsu has also been working closely with the hospital staff to implement Cisco’s Clinical Solution Suite over the IP telephony and wireless network.
Craig Gledhill, managing director of Singapore and Brunei for Cisco Systems, said, Hospitals and medical institutions throughout Asia are facing increasing pressure to raise the quality of healthcare with limited resources. Alexandra Hospital now has the ability to take its patient care capabilities to a whole new level, which is great news for its patients and for the hospital.
