SINCLAIR TO LIFT THE LID ON PANDORA BOX TODAY

By CBR Staff Writer

For Sinclair Research Ltd read Cambridge Computers Ltd – and for the long-gestating Sinclair Pandora portable computer read the Z88. Sir Clive Sinclair is scheduled to unveil his innovative portable at the Which Computer? Show today, and according to Microscope magazine, the machine will be A4 size, weigh less than 2 lbs, have an 8-line supertwist liquid crystal diode display from Epson, and use plug-in memory cartridges capable of storing up 416Kb. The processor is expected to be Z80-based and derived from the CPU of the Amstrad-Sinclair Spectrum, and as well as including word processing, spreadsheet and database, presumably in ROM, it will be able to dump files to an IBM Personal. And the price? Word is that it will be just UKP200.
