Phoenix-based Dataphaz Inc, which claims to be the biggest US ComputerLand Corp franchise, is not having too good a time of it since it became a public company, and is having to pull in its horns: it has signed a letter of intent to sell assets of is Dallas-Fort Worth ComputerLand store to the current management group, which intends to become a ComputerLand franchisee; the Dallas-Fort Worth location was expected to generate sales of $13m for the year to January 31, 1990; Dataphaz has also sold some assets of its Albuquerque, New Mexico ComputerLand store, and is now concentrating on achieving profitability and a better return on sales from the remaining locations in Phoenix and Tucson, Las Vegas and Denver.
