Ottawa-based Simware Inc has announced an enhanced version of its Rexxware Migration Tool kit designed to increase the automation of Novell Inc local network upgrades. A new express file migration feature enables the movement of data at optimum speed using methods such as existing tape back-up to bring files onto a 4.1 volume. The Migration Tool is claimed to apply and ensure the integrity of the Owners, Attributes and Trustees automatically. If a file migration stops for any reason, a check-point restart facility will pick up the migration from where it left off. Name space support enables more complete migration by supporting extended file names and attributes from Mac, Windows NT, OS/2, Network File System and Windows-95. A Rexxware M igration Tool database application programming interface enables users to tailor a migration to their specific needs.
