The company said its Silverlink Automated Voice Services for Health Plans (SAVS-HP) enables health plans to proactively communicate with members simultaneously. The SAVS-HP automated outbound call programs are designed to enable health plans to achieve better member outreach results at a lower cost, offering a more secure alternative to traditional communication vehicles.

The technology builds upon Silverlink’s SAVS platform, which was launched last year to help healthcare enterprises manage member communications. It works by replacing ineffective outreach methods such as postal mailers or email, and aims to reduce call center activity.

Health plans are increasingly focusing on member outreach programs since patients are more involved in their health care than they’ve ever been before, said Chris Iversen, president of health plan Iversen Consulting. Plans have to stay ahead of patients’ information needs or the patients end up calling into the customer service call center.
