56 firms including Silicon Graphics Inc, Adobe Systems Inc, IBM Corp, Sega Enterprises Ltd and Netscape Communications Corp have agreed to support specifications for creating next-generation three-dimensional environments on the Internet. Called Moving Worlds, the specifications are proposed as the next generation implementation of Virtual Reality Modelling Language 2.0. The Moving Worlds specifications can also integrate applications in Sun Microsystems Inc’s Java programing language.
