In its new chosen role as Microsoft Corp’s handmaiden, Digital Equipment Corp has also signed up to become the preferred worldwide service and support provider for Compaq Computer Corp, enabling Compaq to provide large multinational customers with globally-consistent, enterprise-wide service and support. DEC also becomes a Compaq authorised warranty service provider in Europe.
