SIGNETICS TO SHED 300 EMPLOYEES

The season of peace on earth and goodwill to all men (or peace on earth to men of goodwill) seems also to have become the season for throwing surplus employees out in the snow: just before Christmas, 300 workers were given their walking papers at Signetics, in Sunnyvale, California; they will be leaving before the end of March, because, says the company, end of the year orders are behind plan.
