Sierra Wireless has unveiled new enhancement to its suite of ACEware web-based device management platforms, ACEnet Services edition. Using a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, ACEnet Services offers customers a secure hosted platform to configure, control and manage entire deployment of AirLink devices using a web browser.

According to Sierra Wireless, the ACEnet edition is integrated with ALEOS embedded intelligence, which powers the AirLink product line and provides session persistence, embedded machine protocols, enhanced routing features, IP security and other features.

Combined with ALEOS, the ACEnet edition allows customers to monitor device status and performance on demand as well as configure and control their AirLink devices using a single interface from anywhere with internet connectivity, the company said.

The company said that the ACEnet edition leverages the company’s experience in providing remote management for unattended devices in field locations and provides customers a remote management platform that scales as the customer deployment grows.

Justin Schmid, vice president of the mobile and M2M group at Sierra Wireless, said: “Launching a comprehensive hosted ACEnet Services offering is an exciting and significant milestone for Sierra Wireless, our channel and our customers.”

Reportedly, the ACEnet edition also manages M2M applications by combining a feature set with a hosted platform. By providing IT managers with a summary view of the real-time status of all deployed gateways and routers, ACEnet edition allows them to monitor and manage their entire offerings.
