Siemens AG is bringing online a UK research and development centre in Woodleigh, near Reading, to develop Unix-based products as well as PABX couplers, to write emulations and develop Ethernet systems: head of the centre George Brook says that it will employ some 150 people by 1989 and will be formally inaugurated in February; Siemens sees the UK as the most volatile market in Europe and the most competitive.
