SIEMENS NIXDORF TAKES NETWORKER FOR NT

By CBR Staff Writer

Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG has taken out a source code license to the NT version of Legato Systems Inc’s NetWorker storage management software, building on a deal that started in 1993 when the German company licensed the source to the Unix version of the program. Siemens, which has been selling Sinix and Reliant Unix versions of NetWorker ever since, now plans to sell NetWorker as part of the storage management scheme offered with its Primergy NT servers. Siemens will sell NetWorker virtually unchanged from Legato’s own version, save for cosmetic touches that add the Siemens logo to NetWorker screens.
